WSBLC FOUNDER/DIRECTOR

 

Name: Devin Maxwell

 

Credentials: A.S., B.S., PN1, CFSC

 

Bio: West Los Angeles native, Devin Maxwell, is extremely passionate about the development of athletes. 

 

Devin graduated from Morrisville State College, with a Bachelor of science degree in Human Performance and an Associates of science degree in Sports Nutrition and Fitness management. While at Morrisville, Devin competed as a NCAA Division 3 lacrosse player. In 2010, he led the team to their first ever North East Athletic Conference (NEAC) championship and Post season Tournament appearance in school history, as well as 3 consecutive undefeated regular season championships (2010,2011,2012). In 2012, Devin led the team in scoring and finished his career with 99 points. Ending his career on the top 5 all time scorers list in program history.

 

Devin’s passion for lacrosse lives on, as he currently serves as the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach at Notre Dame High School (Sherman Oaks). Previously, Devin spent 13 years as the Director of player development for the Culver City Lacrosse club and the Assistant coach for the Varsity team at Culver City High School.

 

Devin comes to the WSBLC with 15+ years of youth coaching experience.

Name: Eliud Evans 

Credentials: A.S., B.S., XPS, CFSC

Fitness and Performance Coach

Youth Development Coach

 

Bio: Born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Eliud attended Culver City High School, and went on to continue his education at Morrisville St. College 

 

While at Morrisville State College Eliud graduated with A.S. Sports Nutrition and Fitness Management and B.S. Human Performance and Health Promotion

 

Eliud earned a number of Accolades while playing for Morrisville state.

 

2x All-Conference player

2x NEAC Champion

2x Breakthrough Athlete

2 NCAA Appearances

Eliud is currently the Head Coach at El Segundo HS. 

 

Eliud comes to WSBLC with 10 years of coaching experience in both CA and NY.

WSBLC COACHING STAFF

Name: Matt Karzak

​

Bio: Matt grew up in South Orange County where he went to High School at JSerra Catholic.  After graduating in 2016, he went on to earn his Bachelors in Sports Administration at John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH.  While at John Carroll, Matt played two seasons on the team before joining the team as the Digital Media Director.  After a Covid shortened season, he went back to John Carroll in 2020 to earn his masters and join the lacrosse team as the Graduate assistant.  As a player and coach, Matt earned multiple accolades including:

School’s First NCAA Top 20 Ranking

School’s First NCAA Tournament Win

Matt now resides in Los Angeles and is an Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Notre Dame High School.

Name: Olivia McPherson

​

Olivia McPherson from Rochester, MN played 4 years at Lourdes HS. Olivia then went on to play NCAA D3 Lacrosse at Averett University and finishing her career at WCLA D1 University of St. thomas, where she is currently finishing her degree in Marketing and management.

​

Mcpherson currently, lives and works in Los Angeles, and is excited to help young Women, like herself excel and develop in lacrosse and life.

WSBLC COACHING STAFF

 

Name: Matthew A. Hernandez

​

Bio: Matt was born and raised in Los Angeles and began playing lacrosse while attending Birmingham High School in Van Nuys, CA.

 

After graduating high school, he attended Whittier College in Whittier, CA while earning his BA in Sociology, graduating in 2016.

 

In 2018 he played for Mexico’s Men’s Lacrosse Team in the Lacrosse World Games in Netanya, Israel. Matt has been coaching Youth Lacrosse since 2012.
